Updated 12 September 2026 · applies to the Garden Design 2.0 experience from Kimbytes.
When you explicitly request a design, your selected photo and design preferences are sent through our backend to Google’s Gemini API to generate a visual concept. Avoid photos containing people, addresses or other private information. The backend strips photo metadata before sending the image to Google. Uploaded originals are processed in memory; we do not keep an original-photo collection on our server.
Saved designs, source photos and attached plant guides are stored on your device. Generated results and request status are also kept in our Firebase backend to recover interrupted requests. We record an installation or RevenueCat customer reference, onboarding/paywall and generation activity, estimated service cost and purchase information to operate the service and prevent duplicate charges or abuse. We do not sell your data or use your garden photos for advertising. We measure our Apple Ads campaigns using Apple attribution identifiers, country/region and purchase activity; unresolved attribution is kept separate from confirmed non-attributed use.
Google Firebase provides processing and storage, plus authentication for our owner dashboard and earlier app builds. The updated app does not require a Firebase end-user account to generate designs. Google Gemini processes design inputs. Apple processes payments, and RevenueCat validates purchases and restores access. These providers process data under their own applicable terms and privacy practices. We use paid Gemini API processing; see Google’s API terms for its data handling.
You can remove saved designs in the app, export copies, or delete generated cloud images referenced by this installation in Settings. For other activity data or records from earlier installations, contact support. Minimal activity, purchase and legacy credit-use records may be retained for accounting, fraud prevention and to avoid restoring already-used credits. Deleting data does not cancel an Apple subscription; manage it in App Store settings. Removing the app can remove local designs, so export important files first.
Earlier saved plant records are preserved locally and can be exported from Settings. The new garden experience does not upload them automatically.
